Back to the Future
At the beginning of the first film, teenager Marty McFly arrives in 1955 with the help of a 1985 time machine designed by Dr. Emmett L. Brown.
Once there, he inadvertently prevents his parents from meeting and falling in love – instead, his mother falls in love with him. This changes the future timeline (change from timeline 1 to timeline 2).
DeLorean
Dr. Emmett L. Brown built the time machine from a DeLorean DMC-12 because he found the sports car stylish and its stainless steel body made it ideal for the purpose. In addition, it can easily achieve the required jump speed of around 140 km/h (in the original and, from the third part, in the German dubbing as well: 88 miles per hour).
