EVA foam, high density foam
EVA-Foam 100kg /m3 is our high density foam.
Ethylene vinyl acetate foam is a fine-pored, closed-cell foam made from the copolymer ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA).
EVA foams are characterized by their light weight, durability, high flexibility and elasticity. They do not absorb water, are malleable under the influence of heat and have a heat insulating effect.
EVA foams are manufactured with the help of special injection molding machines.
The starting material is first plasitized and a suitable blowing agent is added. A chemical reaction causes the gas to form in the melt; when it exits the nozzle, the material expands and a fine-pored, closed-cell foam is formed.
Due to the high density, the cells are closed and thus very easy to grind. Or to process with the Dremel or even laser cut.
You can seal EVA-Foam with heat and it is easy to engrave with a sharp knife and then can be heated with a hot air blower.
It can be primed with Plasti Dip, Flex Bond, Flexipaint or Gesso.
What is special about EVA-100kg ?
smooth on both sides
low allergy
malleable under the influence of heat
bonds very well with thermoplastics, such as worbla
very easy to emboss
good carve
EVA-100kg has very good machining properties:
can be glued easily
can be easily cut with scissors and cutter
very good machinable with sandpaper and/or the Dremel
easy modeling properties. With increased heat, patterns and structures can be easily pressed in and minor irregularities smoothed out by hand.
Available thicknesses: 5mm and 10mm
1mm and 2mm we have the CF-100 from Poly Props in stock.
