Harder & Steenbeck Airbrush
The company Harder & Steenbeck GmbH & Co KG was founded in 1923 by the engineers August Harder and Wilhelm Steenbeck as the metal goods factory Harder & Steenbeck in Hamburg. In the beginning, the company produced variable capacitors, oscillating circuit coils and other products for the manufacture of radio receivers. During World War 2, Harder & Steenbeck created parts for ship echosounders. Only a few years later, the manufacturer started the production of paint sprayers. In 1975, the company founder August Harder died, whereupon his nephew and employee Hans Harder followed in his footsteps. In 1992 Michael Strube took over the company and moved the headquarters from Hamburg-Altona to Oststeinbek. Shortly thereafter, Jens Matthiessen, who is still responsible for all new developments and has been the owner since 2004, joined the company as a partner.
