My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia (jap. 僕のヒーローアカデミア, Boku no Hīrō Akademia) is a manga series by Kōhei Horikoshi. It has been published in Japan since 2014 and has received several spin-off manga and an anime television series. Translated into several languages, the work is classified in the genres of Shōnen, drama and action.

Directed by Kenji Nagasaki, Studio Bones produced an anime adaptation of the series for television in 2016. The main author was Yōsuke Kuroda. Character design was by Yoshihiko Umakoshi and art direction was by Shigemi Ikeda and Yukiko Maruyama of Atelier Musa.

The first broadcast of the 13-episode first season was on MBS in Japan from April 3 to June 26, 2016. Animax Asia showed an English dubbed version and Funimation Entertainment made the series available via streaming with English subtitles. Along the same lines, a French subtitled version appeared on Anime Digital Network, an Italian one on VVVVID, and a German one on AkibaPass and Anime on Demand.
