Hogwarts

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, or Hogwarts for short, is a boarding school for children with magical abilities. These go to school here for seven years from the age of eleven or twelve. There are four houses at Hogwarts, each of which the first-year students are sorted into by the Sorting Hat.

It is also one of the important schools of magic in the world and is located in Scotland near Dufftown, a day’s train ride from London.

The legendary Hogwarts Castle was founded around the year 993 in Great Britain by the four most brilliant witches and wizards of their time. Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin laid the foundation for Great Britain’s Wizarding School in their joint effort to educate young wizards and witches and teach their knowledge.
