Din Djarin usually called “The Mandalorian” or shortened to “Mando”, was a human bounty hunter taken in as a foundling by the Mandalorians at the time of the Clone Wars. Until 9 NSY, Djarin reliably worked for the Bounty Hunter’s Guild on several contracts arranged by Greef Karga on the lava planet Nevarro. This changed the day he violated the guild code as part of a bounty assignment for an Imperial client and rescued the actual bounty target – the Force-sensitive Grogu – after an initial surrender. From that point on, the two roamed the galaxy on the run from Guild bounty hunters and the Remnant Empire, always watching out for each other. After founding his own clan, Din Djarin set his sights on reuniting Grogu with the Jedi. In the course of this venture, he received the support of well-known figures from the era of the Clone Wars, and his enemies also always presented him with great challenges. When the Moff Gideon succeeded in kidnapping Grogu, Din Djarin defeated him and thus became the new bearer of the Dark Sword. After the Mandalorian handed Grogu over to the care of legendary Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker with a heavy heart, Djarin accepted another assignment that reunited him with his Mandalorian tribe. In front of his confidants, Armsmaster and Paz Vizsla, Din Djarin admitted that he had violated the Way of Mandalore by taking off his helmet, for which he was expelled by his peers.
