Luna Lovegood (b. February 13, 1981) is a half-blood witch who attended Hogwarts from 1992 to 1999. The Sorting Hat has assigned her to House Ravenclaw, but she is also an outsider within her house. She was a member of Dumbledore’s army. With her waist-length, disheveled, dirty-blonde hair, her disappearing light-blonde brows, and her rapturously gazing bug-eyes, Luna conveys an impression that is judged “abnormal” and crazy even in wizarding circles. Luna also wears such peculiar jewelry as a necklace made of butterbeer corks or steering plums as ear pendants, and she tucks her magic wand behind her ear to always have it handy. She believes in the existence of such creatures as shrunken-horned snore-crackers, which are unknown in the magical world and are considered superstition. With her dreamy voice, she explains the events of the day or the machinations of the Ministry of Magic as consequences of underground conspiracies.
