Worbla’s® KobraCast Art (WKA)

KobraCast from the Worbla’s® family of all-rounders from Cast4Art!

Worbla’s® KobraCast Art, certainly the most versatile product from Cast4Art, is, like everything from our Worbla’s® Art series, classified as harmless to health and solvent-free in production and processing.

It is activated by means of heat, preferably at approx. 80-90°C, so that it can be ideally molded, processed or even deep-drawn, and of course as often as desired. Likewise, all leftovers can be mixed and recycled, eliminating the need for waste.
In addition, Worbla’s® KobraCast Art has a strong, heat-activated adhesive and, given the appropriate heat exposure time, bonds effortlessly to itself, as well as to our other materials, among others.

However, what makes Worbla’s® KobraCast Art so unique in its versatility is the fabric inside it that is as highly stretchable as it is strong.
This allows very organic objects to be molded, such as antlers or shapes with undercuts. Because the WKA remains quite flexible, there are no problems even when releasing from a negative mold!

You can use spray or stained glass paints to color Worbla’s® KobraCast Art.
What is new with us, however, is how easy it is to sew through our WKA. Since the material is also very light, it is therefore ideal as a flexible, stabilizing base, for example, for corsets, bags, etc. in conjunction with textiles, skins, leather.

Convincing properties

– Free from potentially harmful substances such as solvents
– Simple, safe and contamination-free handling, also for newcomers
– Very ductile structure, suitable for organic molding and undercuts; remains flexible but dimensionally stable after curing
– Can be reactivated as often as required by heat (ideally at approx. 80-90 °C)
– Material is provided with a heat activated adhesive
– Processing time up to several minutes, depending on the exposure time of the activation heat
– Surface offers among other things hold for all kinds of spray – and glass paints, but can also be sewn with fabrics, leather, etc.
– Excellent repair plus composite capabilities, also with other thermoplastics
– No unusable residues and storage is possible for months under normal storage conditions (dry; room temperature)
